Sally Mair - Loving life

Peek a boo

Here's Cleo back to her normal self after her traumatic visit to the vets yesterday. I just hope I don't have to take her for anything urgent in the near future. I do think I'm going to change practice though, I really wasn't impressed.
I went out this morning to check on the work done by the vinyl fitter who was coming to 'fix' the bad work he did before Christmas. Sadly when I checked he had failed to do half of what he promised so, irritatingly I had to phone him again and he is going to come back tomorrow - this time I am going to stand over him. So much for being able to trust tradesmen to do their job... Can you see the steam coming out of my ears?
Went down to Stockbridge this afternoon, mainly for a walk and to clear my head as I was getting increasingly frazzled about things needing to be done.
I also realised that I have a tooth very sensitive to temperature which is a bad sign. Why does that always happen just after you have been to the dentist for a check up. Something else to fit in before I go to India.
Stockbridge is very strange just now, they've closed the bridge for 8 weeks while they do a gas main repair so there is no through traffic. It also means there are no buses for residents either. After 8 weeks I believe that the road will be open for West bound traffic only but not fully open until 22 weeks from now. I don't know what effect that will have on the normally very busy shops along there.
On the way back from Stockbridge I popped in to Homebase to pick up a parcel. I also bought some Seville oranges from Waitrose to make some marmalade and then bit the bullet and signed up for the annual walking challenge once again. I may not manage 100 miles per month but I think it will be good for me to have a target, I seem to respond well to being accountable.
