A day of contrasts

This morning I was trying out my new macro set up for my Sony xr100 camera. I have always been impressed with the quality of images taken on this camera but see its limitations when it comes to macro work, so for my birthday  got my wife to buy me a lens adapters and a set of macro filters. This is the first chance I have had to test out this macro set up. I thought this tree bark macro made quite a nice abstract image.

In the evening I was in Edinburgh and was taking shots in Melville Street for my Edinburgh by Night project. I quite liked the symmetry of this shot. ad always the starburst lights really add tov its impact. (see extra)
