Marlborough

We headed to Christchurch today, via Marlborough and Kaikoura. This is what we were headed into (south to the left). It actually wasn't as bad as it looked and we were able to drive the whole way with the roof down.

We stopped at the creek where the seals leave their babies whilst they are out at sea, but there were no seals about today.

When we got to Christchurch we realised that national stock car champs were on at Woodford Glen (the local track) so we decided to spend the evening there - a bit of a nostalgia hit. I spent the time practicing panning with the camera and I got some reasonable shots - certainly learnt a bit anyway, like the fact that I need a ballhead tripod.
