Sofa Boy

The spotting of a possible replacement for our sofa bed yesterday and the cloudy day here today encouraged us to go 45' out of the city to investigate possible replacements.  Five and a half weary hours later - imagine a big fun park for those who get excited by sofa purchases - and we returned to Rio with a very good replacement sofa reserved for us till Monday at 5pm. As you can't pay for any big purchases by any type of card, debit or credit, and only by cheque or bank transfer, we now have to look at how we can do this without a Brazilian bank account - probably with the assistance of our power of attorney here.  The replacement sofa, by the way, is the same as our current one but different colour and fabric, same shop!!  It's very good quality and a respected Brazilian brand. We want to buy the actual one Bb's sitting on here as it can be delivered before we leave Rio, giving us one less thing to worry about and manage from afar! 

*Footnote: of course if we had remembered where we bought our current sofa, we might have saved ourselves hours of browsing......and 10,000 steps!!  When we bought and did up our wee studio though we visited so many of those centres as we had to choose everything down to the taps.
