Faulty Towers
This rainbow that appeared while the players were warming up before the match and the floodlight that caught fire at half time were about the only highlights of today's game between Yeovil and Solihull Moors.
Solihull came with a game plan to get a draw which involved pumping the ball as high and far forward as possible and hoping they might get a lucky goal, wasting as much time as possible and, when they couldn't do either of those, kicking our players up in the air.
The crowd were quite disappointed when the fire brigade arrived to put out the fire at half time, the floodlights were restored to working order and the game got going again; we were hoping the ref would abandon the game and put us out of our misery!
It's not the first time a team has come to do that at Huish Park this season and, not for the first time, it worked. At least we defended well in the face of their aerial bombardment and got a 0-0 draw ( we've lost a couple of other games like this) but it wasn't entertaining to watch. We weren't at our best but still have to find a way to combat these sorts of negative tactics.
This morning at the Park run, Tess & I managed to improve on last week's times despite the mud and Chris did well on his first run in a couple of months since he damaged his ankle.
