Transformation

Pretty wet in Balerno until dark when the clouds cleared briefly enabling us to go out for a walk, exploring (in the dark) parts of the locality we’d never visited in the 20 odd years I’ve been coming up here.

Earlier we’d travelled to Glasgow to view the property we’d bought with Susan’s sister and brother in law over 5 years ago. No such ambition was realised. However, it is now finished and ready for the first tenant. From the empty, crumbling and derelict the place has been transformed into something rather cosy. Nicely located, close to shops and bus route it’ll make a pleasant place for someone.

It’s only the uncared nature of communal stairs and landings of this old tenement block which spoil the overall effect. Once you’re in through the door to the flat it’s a totally different experience.
