Crafted

Back in November I posted about our Secret Santa project - to make and send a Christmas gift from random items we sent to one another. Well, New Year's Day saw the great unveiling of the crafts we had all made from the same items. There were some stunning creations on show (main picture and extra). Some of my friends are incredibly talented and inventive - some more than others, most more than me, to be fair!

We had great fun 'judging' the entries, discussing how each of the original components (toothbrushes, plastic snakes, et al) had been used, all the trials and tribulations of the creative process, how the various completed crafts were delivered to the relevant recipient, and so on. And then started to come up with ideas for next year's Christmas Crafters project.

We've been doing something similar for four years now, and each year gets sillier and more complicated than the previous year. Surprisingly we're still speaking to one another, although there are times each November and December when we are covered in paint and glue and struggling for inspiration that we could see each other far enough.
