On Golden Pond

Well ..... On Martin Mere.

To Martin Mere this afternoon for a flying visit. Wonderful watching the sun sinking on the western horizon. Those birds standing in its reflection on the water are lapwings.

And ....... fabulous views of a barn owl from the last hide we visited. It flew up to a post right in front of us. And flew down to catch a vole. Then flew up again,

There are lots of people at Martin Mere with huge lenses attached to their cameras. I am not one of them. But even my little camera managed an “owl in context” shot (extra)

We have had a very angsty start to 2020, Martin Mere was a much needed antidote.
