A New Year's Day walk...

...took us through local woodland with some lovely sunshine.

Therer was very little wildlife around, apart from quite a few ill-mannered cyclists (who seem to think everyone should automatically bow to their superiority and leap out of their way!).

This robin was quite cooperatively singing away, high up in the branches; the squirrel (extra), seemingly oblivious to our presence, was seated in a sunny spot on the remains of a tree.
