Balancing Act

Another warm day topping out at 58f, it was very pleasant photographing by the lake shore, sun low in the sky and dazzling on the ice. Amazing the ice hasn't melted yet.

I managed to catch the sun highlighting a few rocks trapping decayed reeds and weeds. I struggled to decide whether the contrast is value: light vs dark; or colour: warm vs cool. Given that value usually wins, I favour the former, although indecision probably weakens the intent. It's also about shape and line, so there is variety in the image.
