Dozing and reading

Sometimes Sundays are just so necessary to catch up with a bit of reading. Sundays like this one involved a lot of dozing off while reading, even though I was trying to finish re-reading a book for our book group meeting tomorrow evening.

I suggested that we read "The Stranger's Child" by Alan Hollinghurst for our meeting. The meeting was due to take place in November, then various things caused us to call it off. Big mistake. We've lost momentum, and some of us (me) had forgotten what the book was all about. I enjoyed the second reading, although I didn't quite reach the end. As I'm writing this after the event (backblip), I can reveal that it was a 50/50 split between those who really enjoyed it and those who could not care a jot about the characters.

The subject of my photograph is our Christmas wreath which we decided was too pretty to throw out yet, and were going to take up to Crail this weekend to lay it on my Dad's grave. However, we had to shelve the plans to go to Crail, but the wreath was still sitting on the doorstep. If it keeps looking good it will go to Crail soon.
