Festive Fare
For the first time in a few years, Yeovil were at home for the Boxing Day fixture. Our opponents were (relatively local) rivals Torquay, managed by our ex-manager Gary Johnson, so you can imagine the excitement when we scored 3 goals in the first 15 minutes. The photo shows Courtney Duffus being congratulated on scoring the third goal. Not long after he somehow managed to fail to score from 6 inches, hitting the ball along the line and into their keeper's arms. He was forgiven, though when he scored twice more in the second half to complete his hat trick.
Yeovil ran out 6-2 winners in a very exciting game, our best performance in a long time. It was a real Boxing Day treat.
The rest of the day was a family affair, a walk in the morning and a traditional Boxing Day meal of cold meats, etc. followed by a game of Newmarket.
