The Big Day

Fo some reason at 3:30am I was wide awake with a millon thoughts running though my mind.  Mainly thoughts of my bestie who is about to start chemo treatment on 27th for breast cancer, she has only just turned 40 and yesterday she had a port inserted in her chest for the chemo to be administered.....I was thinking about her and lots of other things!  At 4am I decided to get up I have a little tidy up (not that we were in a mess) and set the table ready for breakfast.  I got back into bed just before 6am and at 8am and I was up again and waiting for the sun rise.  Clearly I wasnt tired!  By 9:45am the turkey breast was ready a slow cook...then I made breakfast of Smoked Haddock, streaky bacon, aspargus and poached egg.  Breakfast saw us to 11am and then we opended pressies....I have been spolit once again by friends, family and of course Chris.  I am a lucky girl. We had a random moment with one of the neighbours and their dog turning up at our door....little thing got a bit lost!   He is only 18 weeks old and very cute. He got through the fence.  We reunited him with his owner.   The afternoon was so lovely outside that we decided to get out and enjoy the warm sun.  It was beautiful walking around the fields.  Once back it was showers, nibbles and champagne and fun games. Chris did well with the games this year!   I will  shortly be finishing off the cooking of Christmas dinner and then it will be a movie.  Tomorrow, if weather is nice we want to get out to climb Cats Back (our fav local mountain) in the Breacons.

Merry Christmas everyone hope you have all had a great day.
