Sussex floods

Mr U&L and I tried to visit the engine shed at Ford today, but the road was closed at Pulborough due to extensive flooding. We turned right at the Swan bridge and stopped at the old Stopham bridge to get a few shots of the flood plains. 
As you can see, Old Stopham bridge was really struggling to cope with the quantity of water attempting to pass below it, the pub beside the bridge had no car park as that was under a few feet of water and the beer garden was stranded in the middle of the river! - see extra. 
Despite the obvious danger a pair of young lads set off in canoes, without hats or life jackets (see extra) - I wonder if they had risk assessed the activity at all ....... I hope they were OK, the river was fast and dangerous with huge obstacles all over the place!
My final extra is a line of trees beautifully reflected in the flood waters...
