Dear Diary,

My sitting room is my little haven of peace.  The chaos of the world seems so far away in here.  Louisa May and I sit side by side in my soft reading chair and all seems right in the world.  Only three times in the history of our country has a president been impeached but no one deserves it more in my opinion.  The sham of the Senate trial in January, where an acquittal is virtually assured since the Republicans run the show there, will not take away the stain of impeachment.  That is recorded for all history to remember.  I will not, however, let it and the rest of the insanity intrude on my Christmas.  Here, at least, is peace, harmony and good will.
