Sunset from the Citadella, Budapest

Fabulous day exploring Budapest. There’s so much to see and we are very impressed by the Christmas markets. The main photo shows sunset from the Citadella above the city. A great place to watch the sun go down and see the lights come on.

The extra shows the Jewish shoe memorial on the side of the Danube. This was created in 2005 in memory of the Jews killed here in WW2. People were asked to remove their shoes, were shot and fell into the river. Very moving.
