Travelling Companions

(Back blip) Of course my dear friend "Brumus" the bear came with me (as he goes everywhere with me) on my cruise and just like last year he was reunited with his travel companion, Aline's Blue Care Bear ted (which her Grandmother gave her for her birth and who has been her constant companion ever since). The two like to sit and stare out the porthole and although they posed facing the camera they soon turned to stare out the window together for the next month!

We have two "Sea Days" before we arrive at our first port of Hamilton Island. Today I have been trying to navigate my way around the ship. It's much bigger than her last ship that I went on for two weeks last year. I had to go to a crew safety brief this morning and then the crew lifeboat drill. It is strange as I am not quite crew and not quite passenger, as I am my daughter's guest, called a MOB (Mum On Board!) there are WOBs (Wife on board) HOBs (husband on board), GOBs (girlfriend on board), BOBs (boyfriend or brother on board), but we are just a small bunch and know we could get "bumped" off anywhere if it became necessary, but it is a nice perk of the job. My poor daughter has to put up with her Mum snoring tho! As we have to share her cabin and double bunk, but her cabin is quite adequate and much better than the one she had as a 4th Officer when she first joined the job.
