Christmas Posy

After a heavy hailstorm this morning, we ventured out in our waterproofs and wellies to walk Merlin.  The field is so waterlogged we spent much of our time wading through mud, but we persisted as it is one of the few places we can let Merlin run free near to the house.

On returning home I finished making the 'posy' for the front door (pictured).  It's made with cuttings from the allotment, the garden and from our dog walking field so has special connections as well as hopefully cheering up the door for Christmas.  We also managed to fix some solar powered lights to go in the lavender hedge outside the front door so its looking much more sparkly outside now!

Aside from another dog walk, I have managed an hour at the allotment and to wash the car.  Today at the allotment I was digging up nettles - and their extensive and tangled roots.  I borrowed Andy's fork so had to be extra careful but managed to fill two large sacks.  I am pleased to say the fork (and me) returned home in one piece (O:

Wishing you all a happy Sunday evening.  I think I will be resting and having a bath as I am feeling a bit stiff after my exertions!
