Christmas by Candlelight
A fine concert given by the Royal Northern Sinfonia at St Cuthbert Church, Carlisle. It wasn't really Christmas music, which was a good thing. A few fairly well-known pieces by the likes of Albinoni and Mendelssohn, a couple of less well-known pieces, but the highlight was Winter from The Four Seasons by Vivaldi, with the Director of the RNS, Kyra Humphreys, taking the solo violin part . . . brilliant.
A great evening. And so many people there - the place was just about at capacity. Good to see such an audience.
