Food For All Comers

..........we've repositioned the fat ball feeder so the birds that don't cling on can get a look in too........looks like the Dunnock had voted it a great success :-))

A couple of nights ago ( at 3am!!! ) a smoke alarm upstairs started chirping, usually a sign that it needs a new battery, so next day we took it down and replaced the battery........it wouldn't stop chirping, even with a new battery and we tried several in case it was a duff one, without success. So we've had to replace it with a new one but I've no idea what to do with the old one ........there's a symbol on it suggesting I shouldn't put it in the normal bin and I guess I shouldn't put it in the recycling bin ( or can I?)...........I can't find an answer online.......has anyone got any idea how I can dispose of it?
