Trip to IKEA. That was the easy part. Spent the rest of the day putting things up ourselves (ooh missus) and proving the golden rule of self assembly: everything, no matter how big or small, comes with ten pages of instructions and nothing quite goes to plan. 

Went in to town and ordered new glasses. Expenditure I could do without between expensive house projects and Christmas but it had to be done. My wonky eyes are giving me headaches.

Nice drinks with our friends from Scotland this evening. Always a pleasure.
