Tourist Day

A rare day being a tourist at ‘my castle’. Took one of my air show friends for a whirlwind tour of the castle, parkland, falconry centre and Christmas Market.

The Christmas exhibition in the castle is themed around magical birds and some of the exhibits were stunning. One room featured a giant pie with blackbirds flying out of it. Another had a robin sat on a garden shovel as bird song filled the room.

I never fail to be enchanted by the Castle and seeing it through a friend’s eyes experiencing it for the first time reminds me what a special place it is.
