Fascinated....

We've had such a lovely time together today!

Andrea needed to collect her French passport from the French embassy in Cromwell Road so we met at High Street Kensington tube and headed for the Natural History Museum where we "did" the moon and the dinosaurs while Andrea was busy. Then onto the big mammals and some animals Esmee has seen in her picture books. She looked so tiny standing here, taking it all in! She doesn't walk or stand unaided yet, at just 10 months, but loves to feel her feet on the floor.

Then onto lunch followed by a wonderful walk to Oxford Street via Kensington Gardens into Hyde Park, across Hyde Park Corner through Wellington Arch, down Constitution Hill alongside Green Park, to Buckingham Palace, up The Mall towards Trafalgar Square, up Haymarket to Piccadilly Circus, along Regent Street to Oxford Street. About 3.4 miles in just over an hour and enjoying the lights all the way! Esmee slept for some of it, then Joff carried her and eyes were wide open taking it all in.

We went into a very noisy and crowded Hamley's toy store where elves were in full dancing mode, flying paper aeroplanes and blowing bubbles, and with a very persuasive selling technique for those there to shop.

We said our goodbyes around 5pm and the family headed back to Sawston, Cambs, via train from Liverpool Street. For us meanwhile, the night was yet young and we spontaneously bought tickets to see The Waitress at the Adelphi Theatre on the Strand. It got better as we watched and I am glad we did.

My back has behaved really well today.
