today's another day

Dad

Today is my dad's anniversary, 19 years he has been gone now and I still miss him every day.

Found this pic of him from around 1968/9 in the house at Shawclough Way. Playing his piano, wearing a tie. He always wore a shirt, and until he retired, a tie too.

Never owned a tshirt, never owned a pair of jeans, or trainers. Walking boots maybe, but mainly shoes, suit and jacket.

Used to tuck his tie in his shirt when doing DIY in the garage, a sticker for health and safety.

Always plenty of chalk in his pockets, a maths teacher every day.

Anyway, snippets, that's what you're left with in the end, fragments that define someone, like stars in the sky that supposedly make a plough....

He did make me smile.
