Last Saturday I had a very convivial evening with a wonderful woman who, among her many hats, organises her local weekly farmers' market. The vendors change all the time and so, therefore, do the stalls. Every week she has to make a sketch floor-plan to tell each vendor where to set up their stall, how many tables they can have etc. etc. For the most part the meat and bread stalls are static. She would like to have a simpler, reusable template.

And so today I have made for her a magnetic model of the market in which the fabric of the building is fixed in place but the stalls can be moved around at whim. I hope it does the job for her. Certainly I have enjoyed making it.
