Mud and mince #

A good day. Fletch and I met up with my lovely friend , blipper and AYWMCer Flavia 13 . The rain stopped in time and we walked Fletch through the Abbey House grounds, past Furness Abbey and up through Abbots wood. A trifle muddy in places.. ok a lot muddy in places especially for Fletch but it was a nice walk
I didn't  take more than a few photos..( I have taken many photos of the abbey over the years) but wanted to try out my new zoom lens.
Looking through an arch way on one side of the abbey you can see the old entrance hut on the far side. A chance to try out the zoom and have a go at hyperfocal distance !
I love this little hut. I'm not sure how much has been refurbished over the years ..I've seen photos going back to the 1930 s and it looks the same. It used to be the main entrance to the Abbey ruins I remember going through that way. On cold days there was a little  wood burning fire . It must have been quite cosy in there. No longer used I'm glad it's being preserved.

After our walk we went into the Abbey Mill cafe for coffee mince pies and a good chat.  I always enjoy our meet ups.

Back home and the first job was to bath Fletchs legs!
