Back Blip…
…………………Whisky, Birds & Castle
A Back Blip, uploaded Tuesday 26th November for 10th May.
Today our tour made its way from Inverness to Thurso, visiting a whisky distillery and Dunrobin Castle - which was timed to arrive for the Falconry display.
After settling into our pretty hotel in Thurso, the most northerly town on Britain’s mainland, and a quick walk we were back on the bus to a nearby settlement for a Ceilidh evening. It was a lovely end to another interesting day.
The main photo is a bird of prey at Dunrobin Castle.

Dunrobin Castle is the historic home of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland. The earliest part of the castle dates from around 1275. It has over 800 rooms - the ones open to the public are magnificent.
Emigrants Statue. Unveiled in 2007 it stands in Couper Park above the River Helmsdale and overlooks the village of the same name and its harbour.
