Wood pigeon

We have no shortage of wood pigeons in our garden, but they are usually plump and sleek. This fellow however looked rather dishevelled, and he was sat on the wall for a long time, looking miserable. I took his photo through the kitchen window. The wall connects our brick shed to the house and is a regular route for squirrels, seemingly rushing to and fro all day. As I had my camera poised a squirrel set off on the crossing only to be confronted by the pigeon. I could almost hear his brakes squeal and he hastily retreated to the top of the shed roof. I took a photo but it isn't brilliant so it is my extra. I didn’t see the outcome of the encounter because I had to go and answer the phone!
