Dragon at the Castle of Light
After work this evening, we met Liz and Tony at the top of the Royal Mile to visit the Castle of Light display. We all loved the dragon, as blipped. I made the others wait for ages so that I could capture a good image of the stained glass for my extra.
Like us, Liz and Tony were also in Durham last weekend for Lumière, so much of our conversation as we wandered from animation to animation was based around comparisons between the two experiences. Here's the summary of my conclusions:
Travel time to exhibition: 2 hour train ride to Lumière, 30 minute walk to Castle of Light
Weather: cold and wet at Lumière, just cold at Castle of Light
Appeal of exhibits: more arty at Lumière, more accessible at Castle of Light
Visitor numbers: very crowded at Lumière, lots of space at Castle of Light
Likelihood of losing members of your party: high at Lumière, low at Castle of Light
Cost: Lumière free, Castle of Light £18
Mr hazelh and I are off to see Christmas at the Botanics towards the end of next week, so we will make more light show comparisons then.
Exercise today: walking (~10,755 steps).
