St Mary's church Tikitiki

This church was built in 1924 by Sir Apirana Ngata who came from Tikitiki. It was built to commemorate fallen soldiers. We met a lady who was doing some gardening around the church. She told us that even though it is an interdenominational church now there are only a handful of older people who attend and they are finding it hard to keep up with the maintenance. It's a beautiful church, we were quite blown away by it.
I loved the crocheted cushions. They were on every pew, one cushion per place so everyone gets to sit on one of these beauties.
