Hicks Bay historic wharf

We are parked up at Te Araroa which is the closest town to the eastern most point of New Zealand and the East Cape lighthouse. We visited the lighthouse which involved walking up 800 steps through beautiful New Zealand bush with a stunning view from the top.
Hicks Bay is only about 10 km from Te Araroa so spent a bit of time there looking at the old wharf which is decaying so is closed to the public.
