Winter Light On Ice

I was busy getting shots of ice patterns in the other direction as the sun was going down and suddenly realised the sky was developing into something interesting.

I needed a 4 shot bracket to cope with the dynamic range and blended in LR. I lifted the darks quite a bit and brought out the highlights on the ice which looks rather nice to me.

I think the sky and distant trees could be sharper. I'm wondering whether I should have focused there for the exposure bracket and taking a separate shot focused on the foreground. But that would mean a trip to PS.
