We haven't left the house today, and hardly been outside either. We have both been plodding along with chores. We are reupholstering my mums chair, she was a fabulous knitter and sewer and loved it because it had no arms making it easy for knitting in particular. Doug pulled the chair to bits, and I cut out the new fabric using the worn fabric as a pattern. We need to get some buttons covered in black to pull in and some black stain for the woodwork. The stripe is the right side of the fabric, the black in the foreground is the reverse side, the background is the chair. Ok ok, yes I've had a play in Snapseed !!
Two more cartons emptied which revealed some of our silver, most inherited from departed family. It was in very bad shape colour, and took an age to clean....but OMG does it look stunning now!!! Some of it is now taking pride of place on our recycled rimu dresser. (Note to self....clean silver regularly).
We started off with a welcomed shower of rain, but went on to become another really warm day again.
Weekend over, and no work for us tomorrow....loving this retired malarkey :)
