Hokitika Wharf

Well, it was once a wharf - now it is just pilings. These give a good idea of how the sea has cut the beach out. My parents have lived in Hokitika for 15 years and this is only the third time any of the pilings have been exposed for more than a tide.

I woke at some stupid hour this morning so ducked down to the beach to take a few long exposure photos, then went back to bed.
