Hooded Merganser's Visit Our Pond

Today we didn't have to go to Bethany Lake to see the merganser's....they came to visit us. They really are the cutest ducks, and with the sun shining, they were especially highlighted.

I decided today to go M (manual only) with my camera, and I was delighted with the outcome. It took me a bit to get the hang of it, as I was trying to catch action shots of the ducks flying, etc...so they aren't perfect, but I was happy. I think the detail and contrast was much better.

Bob bought more new bird feeders, and hung more of them closer to the windows, so I was able to get more closeups of the yellow-rumped warbler....he was gazing upwards because the feeder was right above him. He's light in the azalea bush, and then fly up to the feeder. I loved the first shots I got of him when the FROST was still on all of the plants early this morning:)
