90 day manifesto: update

So, at the start of August, I set myself a challenge, that by the end of November, which was then 122 days away, I would have done ninety days of guitar, being teetotal, and writing. (And, as an adjunct to that, I would carry on doing my German daily.)

Well, let's start with the good news. I started learning German on Duolingo at the start of this year and, as of this evening, I'm on a 218 day 'streak', so I didn't miss a day during the challenge.

In other news, though... so far, I've managed just 32 days without a drink, and, to be honest, most of those were in August and September, with a handful in October. I guess depending on how much you drink, you will think this is either not bad or appalling/worrying.

I've done 15 days of guitar, which is way below target, although I am noticing a sudden improvement in my playing, and I have done only 8 days of writing.

On the other hand, those are four thousand words I almost certainly wouldn't have written otherwise and with which I'm very pleased! My progress on the guitar means I'm enjoying picking it up more, and, well, the drinking remains a work in progress.

Only two weeks left to go but I'm going to see what I can achieve and I'm definitely going to do it again from December.
