Cirtus Grove
In all we have about 5 acres of citrus trees: orange, lemon, limes, grapefruit, tangerine, satsuma, with varieties of each. The idea is to have lemon seeds to sow and various scions for budding.
The picture shows oranges all of which are fruiting for the first time after three years growth. In between we have soya here which will produce a crop, add nitrogen to the soil and prevent the weeks from growing, all positive. In other areas we have sunnhemp, tephrosia and velvet beans.
At regular intervals, 10mX 10 m we grow Masangu trees to add nitrogen and draw other nutrients from deep down.
Doesn't look like much of a picture, but there's alot going on.
Oh I forgot the pineapples in the foreground and the yellow dahlia in the background which we use for pest control and liquid fertilizer.
All this is achieved by Malawians with little or no formal education. How's that for progress.
