A tricky repair

This longcase is finally running well. The mechanism needed a lot of attention and adjustment and the clock worked well on test when the seconds hand was not attached to the dial. Frustratingly, a loose dial foot meant that the dial sagged and therefore the second hand tube, as it comes through the dial, just brushed against the hole thus stopping the clock. I could not resolder the dial foot without the painted dial blistering but strong epoxy resin eventually did the job.
