Cactus

Lanzarote has a huge range of cacti the likes of many that I’ve never seen before, or certainly not so large. For scale this is probably the size of a large footstool. We took a bus to the Cesar Manrique Foundation, which is in his house built over volcanic chambers which have been excavated and used as studios/ swimming pool/ general party rooms!. He’s Lanzarote’s most famous son- an artist who left in the 40s, but came back in the 80s and developed a sustainable and artistic tourism policy. An amazing house. Whatever he was on was powerful stuff, it’s really whacky! Bet there were some amazing parties!
