2500 Blips
That has certainly sneaked up on me - 2500 blips - where has all the time gone? Almost 7 years of blipping... When I started this journal, Thomas was a young lad of 12 years old, Luke and Adam were in senior school and Murdoch was a fit and healthy dog of only 6 years old. Life moves on and much has changed since then. Now all my boys have left school, we lost our beloved Murdoch and have welcomed little princess Xena into our family. The best part of my day are the wonderful walks in the woods, enjoying nature and the company of a sweet puppy, so it was appropriate to have an image of my favourite woods today. We had beautiful light and sunshine this morning, but now it has clouded over.
Today Xena is also 5 months old - weighing in at 15.8kg she is growing very well and we wonder how big she will get. An extra of her posing nicely for me on our walk this morning.
I went and visited a 'luxury' dog boarding kennel this morning - quite luxurious and very different from the usual kennels we have around here. They only take 12 dogs, each dog has it's own room with sofas covered with warm blankets, a rug on the floor, a TV (I kid you not, they say dogs like the background noise of a TV being on) with a back door out onto a very pleasant fenced run. The dogs all socialise together during the day and on walks which take place on the large estate, and it is run by a vet, his wife and staff. They have availability for Xena in February, provided she passes her social assessment test, but the only niggle is it will be Sod's Law that she comes into season at that time (she will be 8 months old then so it is a possibility) and in that case they cannot take her. So we have to play this one by ear.
I have a work function with Gavin in London tonight so our lovely teenage doggy sitter is coming in to look after Xena as I will be away for too long to leave her on her own.
