Blip-snap, blip-meet - a day of enlightenment

Today I met up with Marchmont whose blips I have been following since my early blipping days! We seemed to have much in common, and, as seems to be the case when blippers meet up, we instantly felt like old friends, chatting away nineteen to the dozen. Me about my travels in India, she about her's to Malaysia and both of us about living and growing up in Edinburgh. We met at the National Library coffee shop, very nice it is  too, I hadn't been there before. Coincidentally, unbeknownst to us, blipper Hazelh was blipping the outside of the building at virtually the same time. I had a quick look in at the Scottish Enlightenment exhibition as I was leaving, fascinating exhibits and lots to absorb. I'm always amazed at just how much knowledge and innovation came from our tiny country where the population today is only around 5.5 million, around half of the size of London. In the 18th century I doubt if it was half of that.
I walked home afterwards via Stockbridge once again but today it wasn't raining, just jolly cold. I popped over to Ali's before tea, to admire the work on their house. The lounge floor is now down and the room virtually finished. Just the kitchen to do now, which is ordered, the hall floor, which is, so to speak all ready and waiting in the lounge, the boiler to connect up and some doors to fit. They can't wait, they've been living in the two rooms upstairs for the last three months.
Colin and I had a complimentary meal tonight at the new Indian restaurant next door, The Cove. It opens on Thursday, but I spotted something on FB last week which said that if we emailed a request for a booking for tonight or tomorrow, we could have a complimentary meal. I did and we did. We were one of the lucky ones, apparently they had over 1000 email requests. It was jolly nice so I've left a good review and we'll go back once they are open, next time we'll have to pay though!
What a nice day and 16120 steps too!
