Discovery!

I had to go to Dundee today for a meeting. It was a grey misty day so the views from the train out across the Firth of Forth and along the Fife coast were not beautiful as they are usually.

I managed to take a quick photograph of RSS Discovery which is docked in Dundee. Built in the city and launched in 1901 it was the last wooden 3 masted ship to be built in Britain. It was designed as an Antarctic research ship and carried Robert Scott and Earnest Shackleton on their first and successful trip to the Antarctic. I must go back when I have time to explore it properly!

I finished the day with an amazing Japanese meal in Edinburgh. Great start to the weekend (O:
