Valley of Fire--and Petroglyphs
The first full day of our Road Scholar tour took us to the Valley of Fire, which gets its name from the strikingly red sandstone which it has throughout (the link has a good video--which starts slowly). The other truly fascinating feature are petroglyphs--prehistoric images carved on smooth rocks. The extras show one at Atlatl Rock that is dubbed "the Newspaper", for its size and detail. In the evening we went to a lavish buffet at the Bellagio Hotel. A long day, it's late, and so to bed :)
