Who Stole the Hills...?!

This is a panorama shot taken from the window of our Travelodge* room in Macclesfield this morning. The view is over the carpark and the main West Coast railway line then Arighi Bianchi's famous furniture store. But beyond that should be lots of rooftops with some rather lovely hills behind. This morning they were shrouded in mist.

After checking out & visiting Mum-in-Law again we set off to drive to stay with my younger brother who lives near Reading. It was quite a long drive but as usual we decided to avoid the usual jams on the M6 and went across country as far as the M42 and M40 (happily the mist had cleared by then). Traffic was heavy on these motorways but only came to a standstill a couple of times. So we've spent a lovely evening being very well fed and having a good chat.
