Steve, Bertie, strange bear..

So grateful for Steve. Companionable silence is a wonderful thing. Such relaxed company. Bertie adores him & I can take a step back. Two other friends have been great this weekend when I told them I was struggling. Again, I’m grateful as my default setting is to absolutely hold it all in. I’ve had laryngitis, but managed to squeak & cry on the phone.
Bertie is in a phase of throwing things & it’s driving me crazy..he looks at me and laughs as I tell him no. Friday he ran at me & bit my VAGINA!!! It can be so hard to keep cool & calm. To join in all the fun - the dog is terrified of the fireworks & has been wetting herself in the house. She’s been sleeping in my bed - which I have to admit is actually rather lovely. She sleeps the whole night & is warm & reassuring.
Tomorrow is a new week & a chance to start afresh.
