Autumnal

It is "peak autumn". When the sun shines - as it did intermittently at Dunham Massey this morning - the colours can be fabulous. I particularly love beech trees at this time of year, and Dunham has some big old beech trees.

Hundreds of people of all ages had descended on Dunham. A combination of a dry day (albeit the ground is boggy after recent rains) and autumn colour had made a lot of people decide to go to the same place.

So many people watching the rutting fallow deer did feel like a bit of an intrusion, however.
