Dusk On The Canal.........!

Just back from our local library.....
Took some photos on my phone...
This is directly opposite the Library entrance....and it's the end of a tributary of The Grand Canal into our town.......
Our town was known as The Seat of The High Kings of Ireland and the canal would have been a very important asset..
Up to quite recent years barges would have come here delivering goods to the town.....part of the old building is still there ( I didn't get it in this shot)....it is now completely renovated and used by the KYS (Kildare Youth Services) for all sorts of things.....!(might Blip it again)...
Only barges that come now are tourist and as you can see this area is very wide so the barges can turn around quite easily....
Huge amount of wildlife here....these ducks are probably some of the best-fed in the County......this one was making a bee-line for me but unfortunately I'd forgotten to bring any bread......!

When I came home and showed Kitty.....he wanted to know if I was mad.....what did I want feeding 'birds' for?? and what's more if he'd been with me ..he would have caught one for me!!!!!!!
