An eventful day
What a day! The day that the England rugby team failed to bring home the Webb Ellis cup, after playing so strongly throughout the tournament. I was convinced they would win today, as they have performed so well in this Rugby World Cup and yet it was not to be - SA definitely were the better team today. I felt so sad watching their dream slip out of their hands, it was disheartening watching them today. Before the match even started I was tearful at hearing the SA team singing their national anthem - Nkosi Sikeleli Africa always has that effect on me, and by the end of the match, I felt tearful that England had lost.
The weather was foul this morning, lashing rain, strong winds and just miserable. During the match I left Gavin, Adam and Jenni watching and I took Xena for a short walk hoping to come back to a more favourable score for England - but no, it was not to be.
After the match we went for a quick brunch in the village and then we went off to a dog walk arranged by our breeder with litter mates from both mama dog's litters. Not everyone could come but there were eight Hungarian Vizslas, all running around together as a pack, it was a wonderful sight to see. Interesting how they all stuck together and all played with one another. Getting a group photos was not easy - you can see Gavin holding Xena (3rd from the left) and P the breeder is on the far right, her children are holding mama dog and she is holding one of the pups that they kept.
It was a great walk, and Xena got absolutely filthy, so when we got home Gavin took her into the shower and she had a good wash. Her pretty pink collar was brown and I had trouble recognising her amongst all the dogs as I could not always distinguish her collar.
A quiet night tonight, and tomorrow we are taking Adam and Jenni back to Cambridge and will see Thomas.
Some extras of the dogs playing - Xena is the dirty one on the very left coming in to the frame , and also a shot of Adam and Jenni.
