Red Maple

It's turning out to be a miserable, wet and windy day, so I'm not inclined to move far outside my front door!

I did manage some shopping this morning, including buying some soil from the "Drive Through" at a local garden centre (and got the bulbs planted before the heavens really opened!).

My local supermarket is built on a former garden centre and nursery site,  sharing the building with a pet store, take-away food and sports outlet, with a small housing estate. The remainder of the land has been developed as an open space, retaining some of the mature plants from the original site.  This maple was positively glowing in the brief breaks in the clouds with its red leaves and seeds.
