Bully Beef and Chips....

A day of cattle work ( again)
Went down the road and managed to persuade the 21 Angus X Saler heifers that it was a good idea to come in to the pens for some barley . There was a dodgy moment when a couple buggered off in the opposite direction, but I stayed hidden and eventually they joined their mates and I got the gate slammed shut.
Spent most of the day hauling them home to put in the field with this Angus bull and the Hereford X heifers.
The spooky one was in the last load so stuck her in a shed and she won’t be seeing a bull as I’ve no time for keeping the likes of her for a cow.
Other things happening, 3 lorry loads of tar plannings came in from a job at Wallyford. They will do for various jobs patching pot holes .

The twinned on calf from yesterday is sucking its new mum OK so I will take the skin overcoat off it tomorrow. The other one that came in yesterday had to be bottle fed again but managed to get it to suck the cow for about a couple of minutes so we will get there eventually .
The bull was looking pleased with his new harem tonight, fingers crossed love is in the air and he is working OK .
